“Women Talking,” the critically acclaimed drama from director Sarah Polley, is now available to watch online. You can rent the Oscar-nominated film for $6 or buy it for $20 from digital retailers like Amazon, Apple TV, and Vudu. 

“Women Talking” follows a group of women in an isolated religious colony as they grapple with a shocking revelation about their community. With their newfound knowledge, they must figure out how to move forward in their faith or decide to change the direction of their lives.

“Women Talking” stars Jessie Buckley, Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Judith Ivey, Ben Whishaw, and Frances McDormand. The movie  is written and directed by Sarah Polley, whose previous directorial credits include “Stories We Tell” and “Hey Lady!.” It’s produced by McDormand, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner. 

How to watch ‘Women Talking’

“Women Talking” is now available to watch through digital retailers like Amazon, Apple TV, and Vudu. It starts at $6 to rent and $20 to buy in up to 4K quality.

After purchasing “Women Talking,” you can stream it whenever you want with no restrictions. If you decide to rent the film, you have 30 days to start watching and 48 hours to finish it after you press play.

Digital retailer apps are available on most connected devices, like smart TVs, smartphones, media players, gaming consoles, and internet browsers. 

“Women Talking” is not available to stream on any subscription services yet, but the film’s production company, Orion Pictures, is owned by Amazon. It’s therefore expected to be available with a Prime Video membership in the next few months. Once it’s added to Prime Video, subscribers will be able to stream it without paying any extra rental or purchase fees. 

Is ‘Women Talking’ a true story?

“Women Talking” is not based directly on a true story. However, it is based on a novel of the same name by author Miriam Toews that is loosely inspired by real events experienced by women in a Mennonite colony. 

Is ‘Women Talking’ worth watching?

“Women Talking” is critically acclaimed and has received multiple nominations from both the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes. As of March 3, the film holds a “91% Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics and audiences agree that while the film’s drama can be a bit too subdued for some viewers, it’s a thought-provoking piece of cinema.
