Streamer Apple TV+ has announced a second season renewal for dramedy Shrinking. Co-created by Jason Segel, Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein, Shrinking follows grieving therapist Jimmy (Segel) who begins to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. The end result are massive changes to his and their lives.
“We have loved the engaging, touching and hilarious world of Shrinking since the beginning, and it has been wonderful to watch as audiences around the world continue to connect with these big-hearted characters,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+. “We can’t wait for viewers to experience what the cast and creative team have for season two.”
In addition to Jason Segel, Shrinking stars Jessica Williams (Gaby), Christa Miller (Liz), Lukita Maxwell (Alice), Michael Urie (Brian), Luke Tennie (Sean) and, in his first regularly scheduled television series role, Harrison Ford as fellow therapist Paul.
Shrinking is produced by Warner Bros. Television, where Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein are under overall deals, and Lawrence’s Doozer Productions. Lawrence, Segel, Goldstein, Neil Goldman, James Ponsoldt, Randall Winston, Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer serve as executive producers.
The eighth episode of the current first season order, “Boop”, which drops this week, follows Paul and Brian as they come to Jimmy’s aid when Alice stars acting out.
There is no confirmation how many episodes have been ordered for season two of Shrinking, but the expectation is another 10.
